Metropolitan Toronto Reference Library received a limited edition print, Blue Jays at My Feeder , on the occasion of the first public display of the Library's Birds of America by John James Audubon.

The Beebe Project , a group of eminent scientists in the United States and Canada of which Glen Loates is a member received not only its logo but a rendition of the Pisces IV submersible used in research, surrounded by a giant squid, that was used in fundraising efforts for the research projects.
1984
Mayor Art Eggleton and David Garrick, Chairman of the Sesquicentennial Board received on behalf of the City of Toronto, the painting Eastern Grey Squirrels , created in honour of the City's 150th birthday.
The American Ornithologists Union was presented with the painting Magnolia Warbler , by the artist.
1982
President Ronald Reagan, on behalf of the people of the United States, received the painting The Bald Eagle , In the Oval Office of the White House. The painting commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Eagle's designation as America's official symbol. The presentation was made by the artist and Allan Gotlieb, Canada's Ambassador to the U.S.
H.R.H. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was presented with the limited edition book, TheArt of Glen Loates , and a remark drawing, by the Government of Ontario.
World Wildlife Fund received the watercolour painting Coho Salmon , and a limited edition book, The Art of Glen Loates for an auction.
Pierre Elliott Trudeau, former Prime Minister of Canada, was presented with original lithographs and the limited edition book, The Art of Glen Loates , by the artist.

The Ontario Humane Society was presented with the watercolour painting, House Sparrows, by the artist, on the occasion of the opening of their new building.

Royal Ontario Museum mounts a retrospective exhibition. It had mounted a one-man show, 20 years earlier, when Glen was only 20 years old.

Received the Royal Philatelic Award for Grey Jays stamp, one of the first four, four-colour stamps issued in Canada. The other three were Hermit Thrush, White-throated Sparrow and Ipswich Sparrow .
1964
Painted a Christmas Card for the Federation of Ontario Naturalists, which led to a series of wildlife portraits rendered for The Canadian Magazine. This in turn began a whole new art industry in Canada.
1956
When only 11 years old, designed the golden daffodil for the Canadian Cancer Society. The logo is still used today to represent the research and caring provided by the society.
