A chipmunk pauses on a moss-covered log, watching a Woodland Blue Butterfly drift past. Glen first painted this scene as a watercolour early in his career. For the enhanced version he returned to it by hand with soft pastel, Chinese white ink and coloured pencil, applying a luminous green-and-gold background that lifts the figure off the page and refining the smallest details until every whisker, fern frond and butterfly wing carries new clarity.
This is one of Glen's Enhanced works. Working directly on a reproduction of the original painting, he reworks each piece entirely by hand, giving new life to a classic image. This framed piece is made from that enhanced work and is exclusive to The Glen Loates Gallery.
The one-of-a-kind enhanced work this piece is made from, finished by Glen's own hand, is also available. View the enhanced work →
