Mount Rundle rises above Vermilion Lake in this 1992 coloured pencil landscape — the great tilted limestone slab of the mountain's east face filling the upper half of the canvas, the lake surface reflecting the sky below a fringe of dark spruce. This is one of the most recognizable views in Canada, and Glen rendered it in the blue-violet palette of a Rockies morning before the light has fully warmed.
Glen worked in coloured pencil rather than watercolour for this Banff series, and the choice serves the subject well: the layered pencil marks build the mountain's geological surface texture in a way wet media cannot. The result is a mountain that feels structural and massive even in reproduction.

Choose one of three edge finishes. A mirrored wrap gives the impression that the work continues around the edge of the canvas. A white edge offers a traditional, untouched finish, and a black edge frames the work with a quiet accent, almost like a shadow.
