A bobcat cub — paws folded over a weathered branch, ears cocked, eyes wide with the particular alertness of a young predator discovering the world — sits among dandelions, honeysuckle, and summer grasses. A bumblebee drifts past in the background, completely indifferent to the small danger below. Glen captured the irresistible contradiction of the bobcat cub: built for hunting, but undeniably, completely charming.
This piece is executed in coloured pencil, which Glen used for compositions where he wanted warmth and softness without sacrificing detail. The texture of the paper works through every stroke of the cub's spotted coat.
