A single maple stands in full autumn fire — every leaf a different shade of gold, copper, and ember. Glen rendered this tree the way it deserves to be seen: alone in an open field, holding the light.
The original is a watercolour, made during the years Glen spent painting the Ontario countryside that surrounded his Maple, Ontario home and shaped his eye. The technique here is loose where the leaves shimmer, then tight and disciplined in the trunk and bark — a contrast Glen was known for.
