I recently ordered "The Swan Family" giclée print from the glenloates gallery online sight. The site itself was easy to navigate and well designed with images of prints available, information about types of prints possible to order, etc.
I t is an absoutely stunning print - it arrived in a mostly timely fashion and was packaged to insure it would arrive in perfect condition. Quality of the print is superior - paper, colour, etc.
This is the 4th Loates print I have purchased - with this one being the first from this online site ---- which is, in essence, a gallery of his work. It is also a site with much interesting information about the artist himself.
Glen Loates made such an important contribution to wildlife art in Canada.
Glen Loates made such a fabulous contribution to
Dr Innis, thank you for such a considered review, and for taking the trouble to describe the site as well as the work.
Your fourth. That means you were collecting my father's work long before this gallery existed, and I would be glad to know what the other three are. Part of what we are doing here is rebuilding a record of where the work has ended up.
On his contribution to Canadian wildlife art: he was the first wildlife painter invited into full membership of the Royal Canadian Academy, in 1974, and that same year Cornell's ornithology laboratory hung more than forty of his works where Fuertes and Peter Scott had hung before him. He was in his twenties.
