# Fairholme Range Banff — Giclée on Paper

The Fairholme Range rises directly behind young alpine larch in the foreground — the mountain's grey limestone face filling the upper half of the canvas, the larch a vivid fresh green against the cool stone. This is Banff in early summer, when the larches are just leafing out and the mountain still holds winter's grey. Glen rendered it in coloured pencil, the medium's textural quality ideal for the rough surface of the limestone and the feathery needles of the larch.

Glen made trips to the Canadian Rockies across his career, and the mountain landscapes he produced there have a different quality from his Ontario work — bigger, more vertical, the scale almost architectural. This piece is among the most dramatic of those western landscapes. Glen Loates is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts; his landscape work is collected alongside his celebrated wildlife paintings worldwide.

Produced as a museum-quality giclée on archival, acid-free paper using fade-resistant inks. A 1" white border surrounds the image, ready for the framer of your choice.
