# Pomegranate — Giclée on Paper

A pomegranate branch in flower — two blooms at different stages of opening, the orange-red of the calyx and petals vivid against a soft green background, the small opposite leaves precisely rendered. This 2004 coloured pencil botanical study is one of Glen's most elegant late-period works: the vertical line of the stem, the two flowers at different heights, the composition spare and completely assured.

The pomegranate flower is one of the most architecturally interesting botanical subjects Glen chose — the leathery calyx, the crumpled petals emerging, the structure of the bloom at the moment before it fully opens. Glen Loates is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts; this 2004 botanical is among his most refined and most recent botanical studies.

Produced as a museum-quality giclée on archival, acid-free paper using fade-resistant inks. A 1" white border surrounds the image, ready for the framer of your choice.
