# Canada Geese — Giclée on Paper

Two Canada Geese in full flight against a pale winter sky — wings spread wide, necks extended, the underside of each feather rendered with the kind of attention that only comes from watching these birds through many seasons. Painted in 1966, this watercolour captures the geometry of geese in formation: the way the second bird flies slightly lower, slightly behind, the whole composition suggesting movement and altitude without a single distracting element.

The Canada Goose was one of Glen's most requested subjects — a bird that carries an almost architectural quality in flight, every feather quill visible against the sky. Glen Loates is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts; his watercolour bird studies have been collected across North America for over five decades.
