# Wild Roses — Giclée on Paper

Wild Roses — the native Rosa species of Ontario's fields and hedgerows — rendered with the botanical completeness Glen brought to all his wildflower subjects. The five pink petals, the golden stamens, the compound leaves with their serrated leaflets, the beginning of the rosehip at the base of the flower: all present and correctly placed. The Wild Rose appears throughout Glen's work as the companion plant of summer — in his field landscapes, his deer paintings, his bird compositions.

This dedicated botanical study gives the plant the full attention it deserves as one of Ontario's most beautiful and ubiquitous wildflowers. Glen Loates is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts; his wildflower paintings are among the most beloved in his catalogue.
