# Low Tide Halifax Nova Scotia — Giclée on Paper

The rocks at low tide near Halifax — barnacle-encrusted, kelp-draped, the dark pools between them catching the sky. Glen painted this Atlantic seascape with the same geological patience he brought to his Rockies and Shield landscapes: the specific texture of Maritime intertidal rock, the way the exposed reef holds water and life. The composition is low and horizontal, the horizon far back, the foreground all rock and tidal life.

Glen's Atlantic coast work carries a different quality from his Ontario landscapes — the salt air, the tidal rhythm, the different palette of Maritime light all read in the painting. He is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts whose landscape range extended from the Pacific to the Atlantic and from the boreal to the Arctic.
