# Field Mouse — Giclée on Paper

A field mouse sits on a fallen log, holding something in its forepaws, regarding the viewer with one bright bead of an eye. Behind it, honey mushrooms cluster at the end of the log; a fallen maple leaf and a few dried grasses complete the scene. This is Glen at his most intimate — the subject small enough to sit in your palm, rendered large enough that every whisker is visible.

The mouse's posture — upright, alert but not alarmed, curious rather than frightened — is exactly right for the species, the product of close observation. The log's texture is painted with the same care as the animal's fur: the grain, the rot, the lichen. Glen Loates is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts; his small mammal watercolours are among the most technically accomplished and beloved in his catalogue.

Produced as a museum-quality giclée on archival, acid-free paper using fade-resistant inks. A 1" white border surrounds the image, ready for the framer of your choice.
