# Purple Hills — Giclée on Paper

A hay field at harvest in late summer — round bales in the foreground, the field gold-brown and stubbled, a dense wall of hardwoods to the right, and behind the treeline a single purple hill under a building cloud. This coloured pencil landscape is one of Glen's most quietly Ontario compositions: the baled field, the summer hardwoods, the blue hill in the background — it is a view from any number of back roads in Simcoe or Grey County, made specific by the quality of attention Glen brought to it.

Glen's agricultural landscapes are as carefully observed as his wilderness work — the individual bales, the stubble rows, the specific green of a late-summer hardwood forest. Glen Loates is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts; this summer field landscape is one of his most evocative and regionally specific Ontario works.

Produced as a museum-quality giclée on archival, acid-free paper using fade-resistant inks. A 1" white border surrounds the image, ready for the framer of your choice.
