# Cottontail Rabbit — Giclée on Paper

A mother Eastern Cottontail with three kits at her side — the young clustered together in a grass nest, the mother alert above them. The family is painted with the warm intimacy Glen brought to his mammal subjects: the kits' proportions exactly right, the mother's posture exactly that mix of attention and calm that nursing females carry. The summer grasses around them fade softly into the background.

Glen spent time observing cottontail warrens in the fields near his Ontario studio, watching the domestic rhythms that most people never see. The technical challenge in this piece is the grass nest — a hundred individual strands of dried grass, each placed specifically. Glen Loates is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts whose small mammal watercolours are prized in collections across North America.

Produced as a museum-quality giclée on archival, acid-free paper using fade-resistant inks. A 1" white border surrounds the image, ready for the framer of your choice.
